Guardian Academy: Specialized Support Rooted in Faith
The Guardian Academy at Child of God Lutheran School serves students with diverse learning needs through a Christ-centered approach that celebrates the unique abilities God has given each child. We understand that not all students learn in the same way or at the same pace, and we are committed to providing personalized support that fosters both academic growth and spiritual development.
Guided by the core Christian values of love, kindness, faithfulness, and self-control, our dedicated educators create a safe, encouraging environment where students feel seen, valued, and equipped to succeed.
Services for qualifying students may include:
-
Individualized learning plans and goals
-
Classroom accommodations and modifications
-
Small group or one-on-one instructional support
-
Strategies for emotional regulation, executive functioning, and social interaction
-
Ongoing collaboration with classroom teachers and families
Within the Guardian Academy, learning is not just about meeting academic benchmarks—it’s about helping students grow in perseverance, confidence, and Christ-like character. We walk alongside each child, encouraging them to discover their strengths, overcome challenges, and shine with the gifts God has entrusted to them. Qualifying students are those who are evaluated and identified as having an educational plan for at risk or giftedness.
While the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA 2004) does not apply to students placed in private schools by their parents, Child of God Lutheran School goes above and beyond to meet individual needs. Our Learning Specialists, in partnership with school administrators, work closely with families, manage Instructional School Plans (ISPs), and coordinate with the Ft. Zumwalt School District, and ensure every eligible student receives the support they need to thrive.
